Artistic flow

Fountains Fantasia was used several times over the years but the featured picture today was made in 1967 by Emilios Hatjoullis.  It is a simple design that oozes elegance and beauty.

Glad to see you are finding the blog interesting.  On the project there is a lot of ground to cover, I am photographing the collection and building a database of digitised images.  Most of the 1920’s and 1930’s is already done and some of the 60’s and 70’s “panoramics” too. We hope one day the public will be able to access this.  As we archive the artwork they are being placed into protective covers which will keep them looking good for the next fifty years, at least!

When I say we, I have a volunteer helping me, which is really great.

We also have visitors who come to explore…….. they may be more familiar to you!

  1. Wonderful section and they are my earliest street feature memory. They appeared between Waterloo Road and South Pier in both 1969 (when I was four) and 1970. It happened to be where we stayed at that time, on the front very close to the Windmill that was sited opposite Waterloo Road by then.
