Great Britons

Well as you will be aware,  Remembrance Sunday is coming up so I thought the Blog pictures could be on a historical theme.   The scenes are from a set of tableaux entitled Great Britons, designed in 1975.  The featured artwork is of Winston Churchill and is just representative of the time, shown in silhouette  and outlined with coloured lightbulbs.

It creates quite a powerful image and gets your mind thinking………Who would you choose, from the modern era, to go on your list of  “Great Britons?”

From the past, here are two more from the collection – Boadicea and William Shakespeare.

On another note, had a visit recently from Tim Edensor, an academic in “Light research” at Manchester Metropolitan University.  He showed great enthusiasm and  interest in our collection. He has a really great blog too and you can check it out at –   www.lightresearch.mmu.ac.uk
